1)What's with Gatsbys obsession with Daisy? Did he have a crush on her when they were young and never got over it?
2) How did Gatsby meet Daisy and why did they depart from each other?(stop talking to each other)
He was going to marry her, but since he got back and she was already married, he never really got over it. I don't know how they met but Gatsby went to war and that's why they stopped.
@Christopher I thought that war was what departed them, but was not fully sure on that, hence the question. The fact that Gatsby was going to marry Daisy is huge ,so i would see why he couldn't get over that. I would understand if Daisy didn't have any feelings for Gatsby but the fact that she totally forgot who he was is harsh.

ReplyDeleteGatsby is obsessed with Daisy because she was his first love, so he never got over it. Evidence would be his stalking of her.
